MEMO: ACT Projects & Development Manager
MEMO
From: Avi Hyman, ACT Director
Re: ACT Projects & Development Manager
I am pleased to tell you that Peter Cheung has been appointed to the new
position of Manager, Projects & Development, within the Academic &
Collaborative Technologies Group in I+TS.
Peter has been working at UofT for a number of years, most recently as
Special Projects Coordinator within ACT, where he coordinated such projects
as the UofT Mobile App and the Remark Test Form Scanning service. He has
also been an active participant in other projects such as the Collaborate
Webinar roll-out, the investigation of computer-based exam solutions, and
the investigation of portfolio-wide trouble ticket management solutions.
Prior to joining the ACT team, Peter served in a technology project
coordination role at the Faculty of Medicine, primarily involving the
development and deployment of administrative systems that supported the
academic mission (such as that Faculty’s electronic CV project). Before
that, Peter was a web applications developer at OISE.
Peter’s undergraduate education includes a degree in microbiology and
immunology for UWO, an Applied Information Technology diploma from Toronto’s
ITI, and a Master’s degree from UofT’s Faculty of Information (Peter served
as a virtual reference librarian for the Toronto Public Library before
working at UofT). He is an active member in a number of community groups and
a certified pilot.
Please join me in welcoming Peter to this new role.
