From: Saira Mall, Manager, ACT Support
Dear Colleagues,
I am very pleased to announce that Mariana Jardim will be joining the ACT Support team as Faculty Liaison, Teaching, Learning and Technology on Monday July 13th. Mariana will develop, deliver and assess CTSI programming on academic and collaborative technologies, consult with faculty and provide feedback on a range of teaching topics. She will also conduct research on teaching-related issues and create materials based on this research.
Mariana has worked as an Instructional Technologist and Library Liaison at OISE for the past 8 years. During that time she has provided consultations and delivered workshops to faculty, staff and students in the areas of online teaching and learning, classroom technologies, social media in teaching, web design and accessibility, and information literacy.
Her academic background includes a Masters in Hispanic Studies/Linguistics and a Certificate in e-Learning. She has worked as a language instructor in both secondary and post-secondary levels, and seeks to bring her classroom experience to her role in assisting faculty as they search for new ways to enhance their teaching through the use of academic and collaborative technologies.
She has published translations in Portuguese, Spanish in English, as well as a her own poetry and a thesis on the influence of slavery on the vocabulary of Latin American Portuguese and Spanish.
In her off-time, Mariana enjoys exploring a variety of dance forms such as Ballet, Salsa, Odissi and Afro-Brazilian dance.
Please join me and welcome Mariana to our team.
